In a strategic shake-up that could redefine the competitive landscape of NASCAR, Front Row Motorsports has announced a series of pivotal leadership changes in its competition department as it gears up for the 2026 Cup and Truck Series seasons. The organization is elevating Drew Blickensderfer, a seasoned veteran in the NASCAR realm, to the role of Competition Director, leaving behind his duties as the crew chief for the No. 4 car and driver Noah Gragson.
Blickensderfer brings a wealth of experience and a winning pedigree to his new position. With 17 years under his belt as a crew chief, he has notched up an impressive four wins, 30 top-fives, and 85 top-10 finishes. His most notable triumphs include capturing the prestigious Daytona 500 twice, first in 2009 with Matt Kenseth and again in 2021 with Michael McDowell. This transition allows him to focus on steering the competitive direction of the team while collaborating closely with Technical Director Seth Barbour, who will continue to oversee the technical direction and engineering efforts vital to the team’s success.
The leadership shift also sees Grant Hutchens stepping into the role of crew chief for Noah Gragson and the No. 4 team. Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Hutchens boasts a rich history in NASCAR, having kicked off his career at Evernham Motorsports before moving on to Richard Childress Racing, where he excelled as a race engineer for renowned drivers like Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, and Ryan Newman. His most recent stint at Team Penske saw him play a crucial role during Ryan Blaney’s rookie season in 2016, and he eventually took on the responsibility of the test team crew chief in 2025. His extensive background positions him well to lead the No. 4 team into a new era of competition.
Further enhancing its competitive edge, Front Row Motorsports has welcomed Jonathan DeHart as the new Aerodynamics Manager. DeHart, who has an impressive track record, previously served as the IndyCar Aero Car Chief for GM Racing and as Body Production Manager at the famed Hendrick Motorsports. His expertise will be instrumental in advancing the team’s aerodynamic capabilities, a critical component in achieving success on the track.
Team owner Bob Jenkins expressed his enthusiasm about the new appointments, stating, “We are very fortunate, and I am extremely excited to add experienced, talented people like Grant and Jonathan to leadership roles in the organization. With the inclusion of our Truck Series teams, we operate five full-time teams, and I’m equally as excited to have Drew turn his attention to providing direction and guidance to our crew chiefs and competition group as a whole. Having Drew in this new role for us and Seth being able to focus on the technical aspects within our team puts us in a better position to execute on the track and achieve our goals in 2026.”
As Front Row Motorsports embarks on this transformative journey, the NASCAR community will be watching closely to see how these leadership changes will impact their performance in the upcoming seasons. The team’s strategic realignment, with experienced leaders at the helm, signals a bold intent to compete at the highest level and carve out a significant presence in the NASCAR landscape.
