Broc Feeney is gearing up to make a powerful statement in New Zealand as he aims to break his winless streak on Kiwi soil in the 2026 Supercars season. After a challenging campaign at Taupo last year, which stood as the lone multi-race event without a podium for Triple Eight, Feeney is determined to turn past struggles into a launchpad for domination. The young star’s ambition is crystal clear: claim his first-ever victory in New Zealand during the upcoming rounds at Taupo and Christchurch.
Feeney’s frustration over never having triumphed in New Zealand fuels his hunger for success. “I have not won in New Zealand and that frustrates me quite a bit. Hopefully, we can change that!” he declared, signaling a fierce intent to rewrite history. The back-to-back races in New Zealand offer a perfect opportunity to build momentum, and Feeney’s excitement is palpable. He and teammate Will Brown recently tested the new track after the Grand Prix, and the enthusiasm surrounding Supercars’ return has only intensified his resolve. “Just looking forward to going racing again and to have two in a row is really exciting,” Feeney said.
The past two seasons have been a rollercoaster for Feeney and Triple Eight. While 2024 brought flashes of brilliance, last year was tougher to navigate. Still, Feeney insists that the tough lessons learned at Taupo were invaluable for shaping a stronger 2025 season. “We learnt so much from that weekend,” he explained, highlighting how adversity can be the best teacher in high-stakes racing.
A major motivator for Feeney remains his relentless commitment to his team, especially after a brutal incident at the Melbourne SuperSprint. Despite showing blistering speed at Albert Park, Feeney’s #88 Mustang was left a wreck following chaotic action at Turn 1 on Sunday. The turnaround to prepare the car for shipment to New Zealand was nothing short of extraordinary. With the help of his father and the Triple Eight crew, the Mustang was rebuilt in a frantic four to five days, a testament to their dedication and resilience. “It was a hectic period after the Grand Prix as we obviously had to fix my car. We had about four, five days to get it rebuilt and ready to go in the container, so it was a hectic eight days, and we have given some guys well-deserved time off,” Feeney revealed.
Despite the physical and mental toll, the team’s spirit remains unbroken, and Feeney is more fired up than ever to capitalize on this fresh start. “We are fired up,” he stated, setting the tone for what promises to be an electrifying New Zealand campaign.
As the Supercars circuit returns to its New Zealand battleground, all eyes will be on Feeney, a driver hungry to convert frustration into triumph and ignite a season that could define his career. The stakes have never been higher, and the stage is set for a thrilling showdown in Taupo and Christchurch. Fans and rivals alike should brace for a fierce battle as Broc Feeney chases glory where it has so far eluded him.
