In a bold declaration that has sent ripples through the Formula 1 community, Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has assured fans and skeptics alike that Max Verstappen is poised to spend the entirety of his racing career with Red Bull Racing. This announcement comes at a critical juncture as the team gears up for a transformative 2026 season, marking its debut as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in partnership with Ford.

The stakes are sky-high as Red Bull embarks on this new chapter, aiming to craft its in-house power unit for the very first time. The anticipation surrounding this venture is palpable, but Mintzlaff has set the bar low for performance expectations initially, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead. However, one thing is crystal clear: the team is rallying behind Verstappen, who has recently reaffirmed his commitment to Red Bull amidst rampant speculation of a potential switch to fierce rivals Mercedes.

Verstappen’s decision to remain with the team came as a relief to many, especially as the F1 landscape shifts toward a new hybrid era filled with uncertainty. Mintzlaff, speaking to De Telegraaf, emphasized that Verstappen’s loyalty is rooted in the solidarity and unwavering support he feels from the entire Red Bull team as they navigate this transitional phase together.

Reflecting on the season’s conclusion, Mintzlaff noted, “What’s important to say is that I’m not afraid of any performance clause in his contract. The most important thing for an athlete is that he sees that everyone in the team is giving their all for him. And I think Max is impressed with the way the results and the atmosphere in the team have turned out this year.”

His words resonate strongly as they highlight the crucial bond between driver and team, a relationship built on mutual respect and shared goals. “Of course, Max always wants to win and have the best possible car, but so do we. As long as Max feels that we are working on that and doing everything we can, I think he will remain loyal to us,” Mintzlaff continued.

The CEO further acknowledged the massive investment Red Bull has made in developing its own engine, a landmark move for the brand originally known for its energy drinks. “Don’t forget that we are an energy drink brand and what a unique step this is. I feel that there is enormous mutual appreciation and loyalty. For me, there is no doubt that Max Verstappen will end his career at Red Bull.”

As the 2026 season approaches, Verstappen will welcome a new teammate, Isack Hadjar, whom the team hopes will bring fresh competitiveness to the lineup, potentially rivaling the performance of his predecessors. With a promising future ahead, both the team and its star driver are embracing the challenges that await, setting the stage for what could be an exhilarating era in Formula 1 racing.
